Sock Machine

Through our week-long plus Heroes marathon, I've been a pretty productive knitter! Last Thursday, I finished the Whitby socks and gifted them Friday night.

Project Details
Pattern: Whitby from "Knitting on the Road" by Nancy Bush
Yarn: Fleece Artist Sea Wool
Needles: Crystal Palace US2 DPNs
Pattern Thoughts: The cable/diamond front was very easy to memorize and even more fun to knit. The Sea Wool was nice to work with, and they knitted up very smooshy. The heel turn was a bit odd with a slipped stitch pattern, but looks very nice.

After finishing the Whitby socks, I cast on a par of Horcrux Socks Thursday night..

And finished the first last night

Yeah! My Mountain Laurel is blooming!

Your mountain laurel is beautiful! Full sun? Height? I'd love the details - maybe I can get some for here. And I LOVE my socks!

Dwarven One:

I'm so glad that you like your socks. They were delightful to make :)

On the mountain laurel, I have it planted in full afternoon sun, and it's around a foot tall. It has around 3 inches of growth on it since I planted it last November. Only problem with mountain laurels is that they thrive in more acidic soil than what we have here in Indiana. It needed special plant food for acid loving plants, and I used mulch for acid loving plants, too.

I loved making those socks!

Where did you buy it? We need to keep the soil around the berry plants acidic, so that'd be fine. They really are beautiful!
